I am a General Paediatrician practising at Park Lane Clinic in Johannesburg. My paediatric training was completed at the University of Witwatersrand, and I am a member of the College of Paediatricians of South Africa. Additionally, I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of Plovdiv and previously earned a nursing degree. With over 20 years of experience in Paediatrics, I possess a robust foundation in General Paediatrics and a particular focus on neonatology. My journey into motherhood has significantly enhanced my comprehension of parenthood and contributed to my growth as a physician. I am dedicated to delivering comprehensive care for your child.

Our journey with Rafi and his rare disease has been incredibly challenging, but from the very first moment we met Dr. Stoykova, we knew we were in the best possible hands. She listened intently, and it was her sharp instincts that led to the discovery that something that wasn’t right. Her determination to investigate and figure out what was happening with Rafi was truly remarkable. Dr. Stoykova's commitment to Rafi has been unwavering. She advocated for him every step of the way, leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of the right care. When it seemed like there were no options left, she went above and beyond to bring in life-saving treatments from overseas. Her tireless effort and dedication to finding the best possible solution for Rafi were nothing short of extraordinary. Even though Rafi is one of Dr. Stoykova’s eldest patients at 11, she has always treated him with the same level of care and attention she would give to any child. He has never felt like anything less than her top priority. But what truly sets Dr. Stoykova apart is not just her expertise, but the compassion she brings to everything she does. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and her love for Rafi is felt deeply in every interaction. It’s not just about medicine for her; it’s about genuinely caring for the whole child and their family. She’s been there with us through the tough moments, offering not only medical guidance but emotional support as well. Dr. Stoykova is truly a one-of-a-kind pediatrician, and we are so incredibly grateful for her. Her endless dedication and love, have made a world of difference in our lives. We were referred to Dr Neli when our son was very ill. At just six weeks old, he was in distress and two doctors had been unable to help. We met Dr Neli for the first time on one of the worst days of our life. She was a godsend. With her unflappable calm, she prioritised getting to the bottom of his illness and providing us with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Our son started showing improvement the next day. Once the crisis had passed, we got to know Dr Neli for the kind, compassionate and caring doctor she is. Taking time to give us thorough and detailed explanations about our son’s condition – Dr Neli always made us feel like we were her only patients`. She’s a paediatrician but always says: ‘Mothers are my patients too, if a mother is doing well, it means her baby is doing well’. Her holistic, family-centred approach means all of us feels equally cared for. Her accessibility and responsiveness mean we never have to wait for appointment. She’s a remarkable human being and an outstanding doctor. And we are very blessed to have met her.

It’s almost impossible to put in words what Dr Stoykova means to our little family. This angel of a woman came into our lives in 2016 after our first child was born. Neli made us sleep deprived and anxious parents feel like it will all be ok. With her honest , helpful and gentle nature towards us we soon found our rhythm in parenthood. In fact we got so comfortable with it, that soon we found ourselves pregnant with our second child. lol Our second pregnancy was a hard one and we found ourselves with a new born baby and a massive personal crisis. We were scared and didn’t know how we would navigate all of the new challenges ahead of us. Neli was there every step of the way. From calling to checking in on us and even hospital visits in during her personal time, she was compassionate , supportive and showed up for our family in ways that went BEYOND being our paediatrician. Neli is the perfect example of what happens when talent meets purpose, you can just see that she was born for this. Her talent goes without saying but it is her heart that makes her truly stand out. All the children and families that are blessed enough to encounter her will no doubt say the same.

I can say without a doubt that our baby was in the best care possible with Dr Stoykova. In the NICU, Kodah was diagnosed with a heart condition. For 6 weeks, Dr Stoykova, on multiple occasions at 1am in the morning, rushed from home to help our baby in an emergency. She got us in touch with the best cardiologists and also followed up with them to ensure we were getting the help we needed. She made sure the medicine we needed was available at the hospital and did research in her own private time on treatments for him. She went above and beyond, and only because of her our little one is happy and healthy at home, and for that, we will be forever grateful to her. More than a year later, we still do regular checkups with Dr and wouldn’t hesitate to take him back to her for any reason

To my family, Dr Neli is more than just a Doctor. She is the Hero that saved my twins, Bella-Fiore and Cielo. They were born at 5 months. She is a Comforter that stood with me in an emotional embrace when Cielo passed away a month later due to extrem premature birth complications. She is a Miracle Worker that fought for 4 months to save Bella-Fiore. She is a Care Giver that every year for the past 10 years celebrates Bella-Fiore's birthday and never forgets to send her a loving message. Neli is not just a Doctor, she is an incredible human being who cares not only about her patients but equally cares about her patient's parents too. I call her "The Good Doctor." For God has been Good to us by sending us Neli. We love you Neli.

Neli has been the angel that has cared for all three of my babies.
